And now we’re back to a Moon Hunters page from the original set of pages I did. I remember specifically having a really hard time with that last panel.

Something I’ve mentioned at conventions and just randomly is that I drew the entire first issue (minus the added scenes) on 8.5×11 paper at actual comic size. I was on vacation when I started it and I didn’t want to carry around big huge sheets of paper., Plus I had intended the story to be a quick short story, then it ballooned into a bigger full issue.

So trying to pull off some scenes at a smaller size became a challenge for me.

These days I draw most pages for my web comic on my ipad digitally. It gives me far more control and I have actually come to really enjoy inking digitally.

Moon Hunters: Tales of the River Folk is a fantasy comic written and illustrated by Matthew Childers. It tells the story of a young headstrong Hornling girl named Lyria, whose misadventures put her people in grave peril and her quest to right her wrongs and protect her fellow River Folk.
